It is on these three albums one will experience Dark \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAmbient in its undistilled and raw form, dense and haunted. The\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003efurtherest point from sound design or the dreaded \"Cinematic Ambient\"\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003etag. This IS Ambient Industrial Noise.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe inspiration of Mick Harris's project Lull is immediate on\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethis trilogy, in particular the \"Cold Summer\" and \"Journey Through\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUnderworlds\" albums. However Gabriele pushes things even further.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe textures more bombastic, the bass frequencies more suffocating,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe reverbs trail longer. All sense of subtlety and\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003erefinement wiped\u003cbr\u003eaway. Only the cold remains.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003eExile in particular takes on a deep cavernous approach in\u003cbr\u003esound, Uninhabited, as if stillness had a voice and could be amplified.\u003cbr\u003eDespite the sense of inertia, the compositions are in constant\u003cbr\u003emotion and with focus. Only industrial moments of a track like \"Dawn\"\u003cbr\u003eprovides a break to what is an otherwise desolate recording.\u003cbr\u003eAlthough the Drift project would eventually incorporate\u003cbr\u003esynth as well as occasional beats and melodic elements on future\u003cbr\u003ereleases. It is this trilogy that is the most fascinating. The\u003cbr\u003esources are difficult to pinpoint. Were they field recordings? Film\u003cbr\u003esamples? Transmissions from the underworld?
